Little Bright Book Educational Series

Overview
The Little Bright Book is an educational resource created to provide medical professionals with a tool to engage young women in the conversation of breast and ovarian cancer risk and how to be proactive with their health. Each Little Bright Book was written by a team of medical professionals in collaboration with the Bright Pink Expert Panel and has been endorsed by some of the nation’s top thought leaders in the world of breast and ovarian cancer risk, including the National Society of Genetic Counselors.

The easy-to-understand language, colorful illustrations, and engaging, positive tonality make it a perfect tool for Ob/GYN’s, surgeons, genetic counselors, oncologists, etc. to hand out to patients or display in the office. More than 250,000 copies of these booklets have been distributed to OB/GYN, genetic counselor, oncologist, surgeon and general practitioner offices nationwide since 2008.

A Guide to Breast and Ovarian Health Especially for African American, Latina and Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Queer (LGBQ) Women

This three booklet collection geared towards African American, Latina and Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Queer (LGBQ) women is the latest in our Little Bright Book Educational Series, which also includes our The Little Bright Book: A Young Woman’s Guide to Breast/Ovarian Cancer Risk and The Little Bright Book: Breast and Ovarian Cancer Fighter/Survivor Edition. We recognize that it in order to reach a diverse population of women in a meaningful way, it is important to offer educational literature that reflects the full spectrum of backgrounds and experiences. Our goal in developing three targeted guides especially for young African American, Latina and LGBQ women is to reach them with language, images and issues that are relevant to them, their families and communities. While slightly different in tone and appearance, each booklet provides the basics of how a young woman can take a proactive approach towards managing her breast and ovarian health including information on how to assess her risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer and strategies for prevention and early detection.
