Become a Bright Pink Ally
Bring Bright Pink to Your Community
We are so grateful for your interest in helping us bring Bright Pink to your community. Connecting young women while introducing Bright Pink’s programs and services to communities nationwide is central to our mission.
Our Ally Program offers a variety of ways for you to expand the Bright Pink movement to your hometown. Bright Pink Allies are a diverse group of individuals – young women passionate about spreading Bright Pink’s mission, medical professionals, friends and supporters of Bright Pink – who work to bring the mission of our organization to their communities throughout the year. Allies are passionate about Bright Pink’s mission and eager to help us activate our life-saving programs within their respective communities.
The Ally Program allows individuals to customize their involvement with Bright Pink. Becoming an Ally might be the first step in laying the groundwork for a Bright Pink chapter, or you may choose to simply play an ongoing role in helping us ensure that all young women in your community are educated about breast and ovarian cancer prevention and early detection and that high-risk individuals receive the unmatched support from our programs.
Join the Bright Pink Movement Today
By becoming an Ally, you will have the opportunity to brighten your community by:
• Hosting Experiential Outreach Groups that provide support and a sense of community to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer
• Organizing Breast/Ovarian Health 101 Educational Workshops to arm young women with the knowledge and resources they need to prevent breast and ovarian cancer or detect these diseases at early, non life-threatening stages
• Representing Bright Pink at community health fairs and other outreach initiatives
• Becoming a Bright Pink Storyteller and helping to grow our network by sharing your personal story and how the organization has touched your life, and enlisting the involvement and support of others
• Distributing educational literature to medical professionals in an effort to spark potentially life-saving conversations between doctors and patients about breast and ovarian cancer risk and strategies for prevention and early detection
• Hosting fundraising events, which raise awareness and vital funds for the continued development and expansion of Bright Pink’s educational and outreach programs nationwide
• Recruiting and developing other volunteers who can help build a strong community of Bright Pink supporters in your city
Bright Pink will elect to turn some cities with strong Ally networks into chapters, which help grow the Bright Pink movement by organizing local education, support, outreach, and fundraising activities year-round. Bright Pink chapters are led by our volunteer Ambassadors—passionate, high-energy young women from across the United States who have been touched by breast or ovarian cancer in some way and have spent time working as an Ally in their city. After turning to Bright Pink for support and resources during their own journeys, Ambassadors give back by becoming brilliant and bold leaders for Bright Pink in their communities.
To Become a Bright Pink Ally
The first step to becoming a Bright Pink Ally is to check the “Join a Bright Pink Chapter” page to see if a chapter already exists in your city. If it does, sign up by clicking here. This is an important step and ensures that you will be added to that location’s distribution list. Then, reach out to your local Ambassador to express your interest in getting involved. She can tell you about the many ways you can become a part of the exciting, ongoing Bright Pink programs in your city!
If a Bright Pink chapter does not exist in your city, we’ll work with you to help determine which Ally activity would be a good fit for you based on your interests, experience, and skills, as well as the needs of your community. For more information or to get started with the Ally program, email PinkYourCity@BeBrightPink.org.
