Genna lives with her daughter and their beloved dog, Caesar, in Fairfield, Connecticut. Genna practices law at the Hartford office of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP where she handles a wide variety of transactional corporate and securities law matters for institutional and individual investors, investment funds and their managers, as well as for public and private operating companies. Genna’s real job though is being Sage’s mom and together they have wonderful adventures! With a strong family history of ovarion cancer, Genna tested positive for the gene mutation BRCA1 in 2002. Genna first contacted Lindsay after seeing her on CNN.com’s Young People Who Rock. Since then, Lindsay and the other women of Bright Pink have been an amazing support for Genna and an amazing resource. She opted for a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy in 2007. Three days after her surgery, the biopsy report revealed pre-cancerous cells in her breast tissue that in the future could have developed into cancer. Now Genna is a peer counselor and advocate for other high risk women, encouraging them to be proactive about their breast and ovarian health. Genna is the President of Bright Pink in Connecticut.
