Ali Hochreiter
Co-Ambassador
Washington D.C.
Ali lives in the Washington, DC area and is excited to be part of the first class of Bright Pink Ambassadors. Ali grew up in Connecticut and earned a degree in English from Boston College, then worked as a writer for several years. She left New England in 2006 to pursue her Master’s degree in Public Health in global health at the George Washington University. She has been an active volunteer since her teenage years, working with many local, national and international not-for-profit organizations. Several volunteer trips to South America inspired her to make a career out of her passion for helping others. She spent a year as an AmeriCorps member, working with American Red Cross on disaster preparedness and relief, including responses to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She now works in public health and emergency management in Washington, DC and loves living in the nation’s capital. At the age of 16, Ali lost her mother to breast cancer and is high risk based on a strong family history. She learned about Bright Pink in the fall of 2008 and immediately asked to be involved with the community of smart, strong and proactive women. She has since been active in the PinkPal program and is thrilled to be working with one of her best friends on making DC Bright Pink.
